School History

#ChristinaStrong

Christiana High School & Middle School Honors Academy is proud to be a part of the Christina School District, where we are committed to educating every student for excellence.

Welcome to the Christiana High School Vikings Campus!

Home of the #1 Middle School in the State of Delaware*

The Christiana High School Vikings Campus, grades 6-12, comprised of Christiana High School (CHS), and Middle School Honors Academy (MSHA) is located in Newark, Delaware. Our school’s reputation is built on providing excellent opportunities for the diverse population of students.

On campus, students find a variety of academic and extracurricular opportunities, led by dedicated staff. Christiana offers a traditional, comprehensive school experience. We also provide opportunities in Agricultural Science, Health Science, Engineering, Marketing, World Languages, and a rigorous visual and performing arts program. In addition to these rich opportunities, our school welcomes students of all backgrounds and abilities through the Delaware Autism Program, ELL program, Networks, and Christina REACH Program.

A point of pride is being at the forefront of developing a dual enrollment partnership with a local university, where students can earn up to 24 college credits. This unique opportunity creates access for students to experience classes on a college campus, and provides staff a chance to be adjunct teachers, while continuing to work in the school building. The school’s success on the 2019 standardized tests comes from a belief in a true home-school partnership, where communication and connection with families is a priority. Additional achievement can be attributed to the many inclusive opportunities available to the students. Christiana is most proud of the way ALL students, staff, and families are celebrated-- This is what motivates our school community.

Our Mission
Christiana High School graduates will demonstrate excellence in essential skills and critical thinking to become lifelong learners and contributing citizens in a multicultural society.

Vikings Pledge

I hail from the Christiana...

Vikings, and I believe
I will achieve and be successful. I
Know I must embrace challenges.
I will persist in the face of obstacles and setbacks,
Never giving up on my path to success. I will
Grow and learn from criticism and mistakes and will celebrate the
Success of my peers and learn a lesson from their inspiration.

Christiana Alma Mater

As we look down the halls of Christiana,
The threshold of the future lies before,
The trials of life for which we are preparing,
Await beyond the ever op’ning doors.
We must now face the challenge of tomorrow,
With willing hearts and minds forevermore.
When through the years with sadness, we remember
The joys and hope of high school days gone by
We realize our debt to Christiana,
And we recall forgotten dreams so high.
We shall forever keep our Alma Mater
Close to our hearts, the mem’ry shall not die.
